McMillan receives grant for adult concert series


Wisconsin Rapids–The Mead Witter Foundation, Inc., continues its support of McMillan Library’s adult concert series in 2011 with a grant of $23,600.  1,763 people attended library concerts sponsored by the foundation in 2010.  The 2011 series is an impressive list of regional and national musicians including a number of Grammy Award nominees and winners.

Library concerts sponsored by the Mead Witter Foundation in 2011 will include the following:  singer/songwriter Johnsmith on January 13th, folk singer/instrumentalist John McCutcheon on February 3rd, Canadian singer/songwriters Dala on March 10th, Texas Swing band the Hot Club of Cowtown on April 14th, Green Tea playing Celtic music on May 12th, rhythm and blues with the Scottie Miller Band on June 16th, reggae with Natty Nation on July 14th, bluegrass with the Claire Lynch Band on August 11th, jazz with the John Jorgenson Quintet on October 27th, and singer/songwriter David Wilcox on November 10th.  Several additional concerts will be funded by Charles and JoAnn Lester.  Concert information is available at the library’s website http://www.mcmillanlibrary.org.
